Welcome to the Georgia Tech family!

We are looking forward to hosting you this summer and we know that you are going to have a great time.

 

What to do once you get here:

1. May 23rd (or before). Go to Graduate Living Center and get housing assignemnt, check in and pick up key.

2. Come find Shawna Young-Garcia in the Biotechnology Building (building 146 on the campus map), in the offices of the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences. Her office is in the main office, on the first floor, office number 1114.

3. Shawna will instruct you on your next stops which will include:

If your lab is at GA Tech

•  Go to Human Resources Department and turn in forms that you will receive from Shawna (gets you in the GT system)

•  Go to Buzz Card Office to get GA Tech ID or Buzz Card

•  After you have a Buzz Card, come back to main office to report Buzz Card number

4. Attend orientation on May 23, 2008 at 4:00pm in IBB in room 1128

•Report any other keys you may need for the office (mentor will let you know)

 

•  Mail boxes - All REUs will share one mailbox for the summer. Please check the mailbox for your mail at least weekly.

 

•  Library cards - go to Tech library, Circulation Desk, with Buzz card and you will be able to check out books

 

•  Library privileges at Emory - with Buzz card, you can use Emory Health Science Library. You can not check out books. Can copy for $.15 a copy

 

5. Parking - Park only in designated lots

Emory parking - mentors will help get parking permits
