About
the program
The Georgia Tech/Emory Center for the Engineering of Living Tissues
(GTEC) offers a summer program, Research Experience for Undergraduates,
funded by the National Science Foundation.
The program is in Atlanta, GA with opportunities for research in
the laboratories of Georgia Tech and Emory University. This
program allows students to integrate engineering and molecular and
cell biology in the following areas:
- cardiovascular substitutes such as blood vessels and heart valves
- orthopaedic applications such as bone and cartilage development
- metabolic, secretory organs, such as bioartificial pancreas
- neural tissue engineering, such as cell replacement and innervation.
Students who are accepted into the program will receive
